MARCH
Le'Rav Exhibit
Le' Rav is a coastal Georgian whose his first major door opened after entering the 15th Annual African American Artists Ex held at the Coastal Center of Arts on St. Simons Island, GA. All five of his entries were winners and he was chosen as the Featured Artist of the Year. This exhibit paved the way for his emergence. Soon after, Le'Rav attracted national attention when his art was exhibited at the annual World Expo held at the Jarvis Center in New York. The following year on St. Simon's Island (GA) he was chosen as a co-featured artist; a distinction which he shared with Florida Artist Alyne Harris. The Agora Gallery (NY) determined Le'Rav's work, "qualified for Agora Gallery Representation." Agora's Art Director noted, "The Paintings exhibit a significant level of saturation, dominating the surface plane of the canvas and denoting emotive tenor. There exists an abundance of verve and spontaneous exuberance for the medium that is captivating and visually compelling."
Reception is Sunday, March 7th, 2:30-5:30 pm. Special wine tasting being hosted by ISAW International Society of African Wines.
Personal note from the director:
Le' Rav's work is music talking, especially his Band Series. Notes become colors, musical movements become ribbons, and sound explodes with vibrancy. He is a mutli-media painter, using it all; acrylic, watercolor and collage. His work is refreshing, colorful and light and decorative.
Best wishes,
Kathaleen Brewer
Exec. Director
